Arizona Wildcats placekicker Casey Skowron was named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week for his role in UA’s 27-26 win over Washington on Saturday.
UA’s first-year kicker scored a touchdown on a fake field goal attempt late in the first half and added a pair of fourth-quarter field goals, including a last-second 47-yard kick, to help Arizona improve to 8-2 (5-2 Pac-12) and remain in the Pac-12 South race.
The game-winning kick was a moment of redemption for Skowron, who missed a 36-yard attempt as time expired five weeks earlier against USC, allowing the Trojans to escape Tucson with a 28-26 win.
Skowron has connected on 17-of-24 field-goal attempts this season and is a perfect 41-for-41 on extra points.
