The Arizona Wildcats are one of the hottest teams in the country, coming off four consecutive wins, including a 42-35 victory over rival Arizona State in the 2014 Territorial Cup to win the Pac-12 South Championship.

Arizona (10-2) moved up to No. 7 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, giving them an outside chance of cracking the top four and participating in the first ever College Football Playoff.

Only the Pac-12 Championship game stands between the Wildcats and a bowl game, or playoff game, to be determined. Arizona plays No. 2 Oregon for the second time this season on Friday in quite possibly the biggest game in program history.

For the first time ever, there will be a four-team playoff to determine college football’s national champion. The rankings are determined by a 12-member committee comprised of athletic directors (Jeff Long, Barry Alvarez, Pat Haden, Oliver Luck and Dan Radakovich), former coaches (Tyrone Willingham and Tom Osborne), a former conference commissioner (Mike Tranghese), a former reporter (Steve Weiberg) and other heads of state and administrators (Michael C. Gould, Tom Jernstedt and Condoleezza Rice).
