Arizona State center Jethro Tshisumpa was ejected Thursday when he and Colorado’s Xavier Johnson confronted one another after a whistled foul in Tempe.
Johnson was also issued a Flagrant 2 and ejected after he drove and Tshisumpa fouled him on a shot attempt. The two big men both fell into the stanchion as Johnson seemingly pulled Tshisumpa to the ground. The ASU big man picked himself off the court and confronted the Buffaloes forward. A brief scrum ensued as other players from both teams and the officials attempted to separate Johnson and Tshisumpa.
Tshisumpa left the game with two points, a rebound and three blocks.
Johnson had 13 points to lead Colorado, which trailed 41-36 at halftime.
Here is video of the aftermath of the play, which itself was ruled a common shooting foul.
Tshisumpa, a freshman out of the Congo, is averaging one point, 1.3 blocks and 1.7 rebounds in 8.5 minutes per game so far in 2016-17.
