Wildcats will be dunking at NBA All-Star Weekend

Feb 16, 2012, 5:15 PM | Updated: 6:59 pm

Wildcats fans will have extra incentive to tune in and watch
the 2012 Sprite Slam Dunk competition at NBA All-Star
Weekend.

Former UA stars Derrick Williams and Chase Budinger will be
participating in the event, marking the first time a Wildcat
has participated since Andre Igoudala in 2006.

Williams, currently with the Timberwolves, and Budinger, who
is a member of the Rockets, will be joined by the Pacers’
Paul George and the Knicks’ Iman Shumpert when they take the
court on February 25 at the Amway Center in Orlando.

A new format will be in place for this year’s dunk contest,
as each player will dunk the ball three times.

From there the winner will be chosen by a fan vote, which
will open after all four players have completed their first
dunk.

Last year’s winner was Blake Griffin, who dunked over a Kia.
