Arizona Wildcats freshman forward Stanley Johnson earned his second Pac-12 Player of the Week award Monday following a pair of dominating performances in UA’s home wins over Colorado and then-No. 8 Utah last week.
Johnson had a team-high 22 points along with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in Arizona’s 68-54 win over Colorado on Thursday. He scored all 18 of his points in the second half and added a game-high nine rebounds during the Wildcats’ 69-51 rout of Utah on Saturday.
Johnson’s first Pac-12 Player of the Week award came after he guided UA to the Maui Invitational championship in November. He leads the Wildcats in points (14.6) and rebounds (6.8) per game and is shooting 40.4 percent from 3-point range this season.
Johnson and the No. 7 Wildcats will head to the Bay Area to take on Stanford and Cal this week.
