The Arizona Wildcats surprised many last season when they won the Pac-12 South.
According to the voting media, it will not happen again.
The Pac-12 preseason media poll was released Thursday, and Rich Rodriguez’s team is predicted to finish fourth in the Pac-12 South, behind USC, Arizona State and UCLA. Utah and Colorado rounded out the division.
The Wildcats, who received zero first place votes, lost some talent on defense and along the offensive line but return plenty at the skill positions. For the first time in his Tucson tenure, Rodriguez will have the same starting quarterback for consecutive seasons, as redshirt sophomore Anu Solomon will once again lead the offense. He will be supported by sophomore running back Nick Wilson, who ran for 1,375 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, as well as receivers Cayleb Jones (73 catches, 1,019 yards, nine TDs) and Samajie Grant (45 catches, 718 yards, six TDs).
Arizona’s season begins on Sept. 3 when the Wildcats host UTSA in Tucson.
