Arizona Cardinals’ Patrick Peterson: ‘My health is back to normal’

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson had an up-and-down 2014 season.
During the season, he alluded to some health issues he was dealing with, but had ultimately gotten under control. After the season, head coach Bruce Arians said Peterson had some blood-sugar issues that contributed to his inconsistent play early in the season.
The 24-year-old did not miss a single game, though, and after the season was named to his fourth Pro Bowl, but while things seemed to be OK for the cornerback, no one was quite sure what the actual problem was.
Then, Monday night,
AZCentral Sports’ Kent Somers reported that Peterson admitted to being diabetic, though things were under control.
Tuesday morning, Peterson took
to Twitter
to offer a little more detail:
“I want to take a moment to address the media reports this morning regarding my health. While I did have abnormal sugar levels, I’ve been working with doctors on a strategic meal plan and workout routine that are reversing these symptoms. I’m grateful that this has been reversible for me and my health is back to normal. Thanks everyone for their concern and well wishes! Now back to my workouts and getting ready for the upcoming season!”
Peterson finished 2015 with 46 total tackles, three interceptions and eight passes defensed.
