It wasn’t pretty, but the Los Angeles Rams slipped past a desperate Denver Broncos squad this past weekend by a field goal.

In beating Denver, Los Angeles separated itself as the only loss-less squad through six weeks of play. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs’ warts finally came through in their first loss, a 43-40 defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots, who continued to rise with their third third victory in a row.

That allowed the Rams to slot into first place in all three of Doug Franz’s, Ron Wolfley’s and Paul Calvisi’s Week 7 power polls — Franz had refused to give Los Angeles that much credit over the last few weeks with Kansas City’s stellar start keeping them in first.

Meanwhile, the Patriots moved to second (Calivisi) and third (Franz) in two top-five rankings this week. New England mysteriously slipped out of Wolf’s poll after coming in fifth last week.

Wolf dropped the Pats and Bengals, moving the Saints and Ravens into his top-five. Franz swapped the Bears and Bengals out for the Chargers and Patriots, while Calvisi also dropped Cincinnati in favor of San Diego.
