Kliff Kingsbury ready for a drink — or 5 — after Cardinals shock Raiders in OT

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was most of us after the team’s stunning — yet stressful — come-from-behind win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Following Arizona’s 29-23 overtime victory, the head coach was seen motioning to Raiders fans at field level that he needed a few beverages as he walked off the football field.

It’s not hard to argue with the fourth-year Cardinals coach on that one.

Putting up another ugly first half of football in 2022, Arizona headed to the locker room staring at a 20-0 deficit and its fans turning the other way in disgust. The Raiders had the Cardinals’ number by a mile.

But before all of the red made for the exits at Allegiant Stadium, Arizona caught fire thanks to quarterback Kyler Murray and the defense as a whole.

After allowing 20 unanswered points from Las Vegas in the first 30 minutes of action, Arizona’s defense found a new gear, allowing just three points in the second half and overtime.

The unit’s performance allowed Murray to take over.

Following a 53-yard, one-interception effort from the signal caller in the first half, Murray responded in the second behind 188 yards and a touchdown through the air.

When he wasn’t dropping one in the bread basket, Murray was just as effective on the ground, adding another 28 yards and a score in the fourth quarter.

And capping the comeback off in overtime was the Cardinals defense, with star backer Isaiah Simmons forcing a fumble before cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. did the rest on a 59-yard recovery for the walk-off touchdown.

“I was telling those coaches, usually I’d just lost and I’m super hungover on Sundays in Vegas. So this was a good changeup,” Kingsbury said to start his press conference with reporters.

Cheers, Kliff.
