Sunday’s game had all the drama you could ask for.
In the 10th inning, A.J. Pollock was ruled out in what will be one of the most controversial calls of Arizona’s season. With both teams still without a run in the 13th inning, Daniel Descalso hit a two-run walk-off home run into the pool at Chase Field for the 2-0 win.
After avoiding the sweep against the Rockies with their win Sunday, the 16-11 D-backs have a three-game series against the 17-8 Nationals. The Nationals own the National League’s best record while Arizona is two games back in third place and 0.5 games back of the NL West-leading Rockies.
