Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Corbin Carroll got things going early for the National League in the MLB Futures game with a leadoff double.

It wasn’t the prettiest hit of Carroll’s career – he already has two home runs in just four games in Triple-A – but it was an early stamp by the D-backs organization on an All Star weekend that only featured a handful of representatives from Arizona.

After hustling over to second on the grounder that got away from the third baseman, Carroll was thrown out attempting to steal third base just two batters later.

In his second at bat Carroll drew a walk but was left stranded at third.

Carroll was replaced in the fourth inning.

D-backs shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar entered the game in the 6th inning and scooped up two straight grounders in the field but struck out in his first and only at bat.

The game ended after seven innings with the AL team downing the NL team by a final score of 6-4.
