Fresh off a World Series appearance, the Arizona Diamondbacks saw their largest season attendance in 16 years.

The D-backs saw 2,341,876 fans enter through the gates at Chase Field, their largest mark since they saw 2,509,924 fans in 2008, the year after the team’s trip to the 2007 NLCS.

This season attendance increased by 380,694, which was the highest jump in the league. It was also the team’s fifth largest season attendance figure since 2003.

Last weekend, Arizona also eclipsed 60 million fans in all-time regular season attendance (60,072,828 fans).

What is the record for most fans at a Diamondbacks game?

Earlier this season, for only the second time in franchise history, the D-backs drew more than 50,000 fans for a regular season game. On Saturday, Aug. 31 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the D-backs saw 50,041 fans the second-largest regular season crowd at Chase Field. A game between the same teams on Aug. 31, 2019 had 50,180 fans.

D-backs owner Ken Kendrick joined Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo on Monday and thanked the fans for their support while saying the increase in attendance led to an increase in revenue which will help the team stay competitive as they re-invest those funds back into the team.

“The attendance year-to-year was up about 20%,” Kendrick said. “Our overall revenue from the fan side of the business was up dramatically this year over a year ago. … So are we going to be in a position to financially compete yet again next year? I think the answer is basically yes we are.”
