PHOENIX — Arizona Diamondbacks sluggers Joc Pederson and Christian Walker blasted back-to-back home runs in the first inning off Texas Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi in a 6-0 victory on Tuesday.

The Diamondbacks have hit back-to-back jacks 12 times this season, four of which have come from the Pederson-Walker tandem.

They joined J.D. Martinez and Paul Goldschmidt (2017) as the lone duos in team history with four occurrences of back-to-back homers. Only Juan Soto and Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees have more this season (six).

Pederson crushed a middle-middle cutter 450 feet, according to Statcast. The ball sailed over the Chase Field pool area.

His blast was the sixth Diamondbacks long ball to travel at least an estimated 450 feet this season, the second from Pederson.

Walker roped a line drive over the right-field wall for his first round-tripper since coming off the injured list a week ago. His last home run was back on July 24 before he suffered an oblique injury.

The first baseman stepped up and crushed his second home run of the game in the third inning off Eovaldi, also to the opposite way. This time, he drove Pederson in after a walk, giving Arizona a 4-0 lead.

Pederson hit his 22nd homer, while Walker’s pair gave him 25 this season. Walker has hit 25 home runs in three straight seasons.

Arizona blasted four home runs on Sunday at the Houston Astros — three from Pavin Smith — and after one inning on Tuesday, the D-backs have multiple homers in 11 of their last 15 games.

Arizona is now 43-16 when it hits multiple homers this season and 9-3 with back-to-back homers.
