There’s no place Frank Kaminsky would rather be than in the Valley with the Phoenix Suns.

Kaminsky, alongside forwards Mamadi Diakite and Moses Wood, signed training camp deals with the Suns on Thursday.

“I love being back here, being back in this building, being back with this organization,” Kaminsky said during Phoenix’s media day on Monday.

The 31-year-old played three seasons with the Suns before being waived by the team in 2022.

Kaminsky’s invitation to the Suns’ training camp is his chance to return to Phoenix and the NBA.

“I’m back where I wanted to be all along,” Kaminsky said.

The Suns’ training camp began on Tuesday and will conclude on Friday.

Kaminsky’s conversations with the Suns’ coaching staff have centered on what he can bring to the team and how the 7-foot power forward can use his stature to space the floor and move the ball.

“I try to highlight the things that I’m good at and avoid the things that I’m bad at,” Kaminsky said.

Kaminsky and his wife Ashley, a Phoenix local, moved to Serbia in 2023 after Kaminsky signed a one-year contract with Partizan Belgrade, a Serbian professional basketball club.

During his one season with Partizan, Kaminsky averaged 8.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Living in Serbia was a beneficial but isolating experience for Kaminsky and his wife, who had no friends or family to lean on while abroad.

While competing overseas, Kaminsky had to adjust to the ball-movement-focused style of play featured in European basketball.

“Things you can get away with here, you can’t get away with there,” Kaminsky said.

The Wisconsin Badgers alumnus spent four seasons with the Charlotte Hornets before heading to the desert.

During his three seasons with the Suns,  Kaminsky averaged 8.2 points and 4.3 rebounds.

“I feel so much support here,” Kaminsky said. “I haven’t really had it anywhere else I go.”

Phoenix will kick off their 2024-25 season on Oct. 23 against the Los Angeles Clippers at Intuit Dome.
