Goran Dragic: I would’ve sat out Monday if Phoenix Suns weren’t the opponent

Former Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic overcame pre-game back spasms to score 21 points in just 14 minutes of playing time in the Miami Heat’s 115-98 win over the Suns on Monday.

After the game, Dragic was asked whether he would’ve played had the opponent been anyone other than the club that traded him less than two weeks ago.

“I would sit out,” he said, followed by a grin.

Dragic voiced his displeasure with his situation in Phoenix before the Feb. 19 trade deadline, leading to a trade to the Heat in exchange for a pair of future first-round draft picks.

He sat out most of Monday’s game after finding himself in early foul trouble — a result of being a bit too pumped up to play his former team.
