The Phoenix Suns bested their first-round playoffs opponent, the New Orleans Pelicans, three times during the regular season.

Each victory was by double figures, and sportsbooks project a similar outcome in Game 1 on Sunday evening.

The Suns are 10.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook with -110 odds to cover the spread. The Phoenix moneyline sits at -590 while New Orleans’ is at +430.

A $10 bet on the Suns’ moneyline would profit $1.69 with a win.

The Suns last faced the Pelicans on March 15 and won 131-115 in Louisiana.

The seasons series was not a sweep, though, as New Orleans beat the Suns at Footprint Center on Feb. 25. Phoenix point guard Chris Paul did not play in the defeat, as he was sidelined with a thumb fracture.

The Pelicans were not in full force during any of their three losses, as they acquired guard C.J. McCollum after the first two matchups and did not have forward Brandon Ingram in the most recent game.

Still, the series spread favors the Suns at -2.5 games with -184 odds, which would be a sweep or five-game set.

The over/under for points scored in Game 1 is at 224. Two of the four meetings between the sides during the regular season eclipsed that mark.

You can catch the action at 6 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
