It’s unclear what warranted the tweet, but it’s out there now.

It could have nothing to do with the team at all or could have something to do with the Phoenix Suns’ dismissal of head coach Earl Watson. But 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro reported Monday on the Doug & Wolf show that Bledsoe indeed wants out.

He’s wanted out since before the season.

“I had talked with Eric about an hour before that tweet. This is not about the firing of Earl Watson,” Gambadoro said. “Bledsoe actually spoke with management before the season about being traded. He’s ready. He doesn’t want to be here anymore. That was not about Earl being fired.

“I think Bledsoe liked Earl.”

The true meaning behind the tweet is still up for debate, but with the dominoes beginning to fall in Phoenix, it seems team-related.

Players, reporters and fans from around the league were quick to react to the point guard’s cryptic message.

Bledsoe has been with the team since 2013. This season, he’s averaging 15.7 points, 3.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game.

Although nothing is imminent, Bledsoe’s name has been thrown around in trade rumors before. The most recent example is a trade involving then-Cavalier Kyrie Irving back in August.

The Suns take on the Sacramento Kings at home Monday at 7 p.m. Pregame coverage of the game starts 30 minutes prior on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
