Royce O’Neale will be reevaluated in 10 days as the Phoenix Suns wing nurses a left ankle sprain, the team said on Tuesday.
When O’Neale misses Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, which he was ruled out of on Monday, it will be the wing’s first missed game of the season.
The 10-day timeline would mean O’Neale will miss games against the Indiana Pacers (Jan. 4), Philadelphia 76ers (Jan. 6), Charlotte Hornets (Jan. 7) and Atlanta Hawks (Jan. 9).
A game against the Utah Jazz on Jan. 11 would be the first one after the timeline is up.
The 31-year-old is having a career year, averaging high marks with 10.8 points per game and shooting 44.8% from 3-point range.
Which other Suns are dealing with injuries?
Phoenix is going through major issues with absences right now with eight players listed on the injury report in some fashion.
Devin Booker, who is questionable for Tuesday, has missed the last five games with a left groin strain he suffered on Dec. 19 against the Indiana Pacers. He has put up 25.1 points and 6.4 assists per game this season, and the Suns have gone 1-4 in his absence (15-16 overall).
Phoenix also listed guard Grayson Allen (concussion protocol) probable to return with Bol Bol joining Booker in the questionable category.
Jusuf Nurkic is out as he continues to serve a three-game suspension for mixing it up with Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall.
