Arizona State guard Jay Heath enters transfer portal

Apr 25, 2022, 12:34 PM

Arizona State Sun Devils guard Jay Heath entered his name in the transfer portal on Monday.

The Athletic’s Doug Haller first reported the move.

The guard looks to play elsewhere after just one season under Bobby Hurley.

Transferring to ASU last season, Heath averaged 10.6 points on 42.3% shooting (43% from long range) to go along with 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 28.4 minutes per game. He was the Sun Devils’ second leading scorer and posted the highest three-point percentage on the team.

Before joining the Sun Devils last year, Heath spent two seasons at Boston College, averaging 13.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and two assists over 33.5 minutes per game.

Heath is the latest key contributor from last season’s squad to transfer.

Earlier in April, forward Jalen Graham announced his plans to transfer to Arkansas.

In his final year at ASU, Graham averaged 9.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 23.5 minutes per game and shot 48.6% from the field.

The transfer portal hasn’t just taken away from the Sun Devils this offseason.

Despite the departures, ASU has seen Warren Washington and brothers Devan and Desmond Cambridge join the program through the portal.
