Arizona State men’s basketball’s second-leading scorer from last season, Jay Heath, is transferring to Georgetown, the school announced Saturday morning.
Heath played one season with ASU after two years at Boston College.
The 6-foot-3 guard scored 10.6 points per game and shot 43% from deep for the Sun Devils. He stepped up down the stretch with five double-digit scoring games over the final seven contests, including a season-high 20 points against Utah on Feb. 26.
He hit one of the most clutch shots of the season, knocking down a game-wining three-pointer in overtime to beat Oregon on the road on Dec. 5.
Heath is from Washington D.C. and now gets to play for his local team.
“We’re excited to bring in Jay Heath – he adds versatility and scoring,” Hoyas head coach Patrick Ewing said in a statement. “His experience and toughness will make him a key part of our team next season.”
Heath is one of two key contributors to last season’s squad to transfer, with big man Jalen Graham heading to Arkansas.
ASU has also brought in forward Warren Washington and brothers Devan and Desmond Cambridge through the portal.
