Report: ASU’s Marcus Bagley out vs. SDSU with knee injury
Nov 18, 2021, 3:36 PM
The Arizona State Sun Devils will reportedly be without sophomore forward Marcus Bagley when the team takes on the San Diego State Aztecs on Thursday night, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Rothstein added that junior guard Luther Muhammad is available for the contest after he missed ASU’s 72-63 win over North Florida on Tuesday.
Bagley left that matchup with 4:31 in the first half and did not return to action. He played just nine minutes before exiting and was seen heading to the locker room on multiple occasions.
“I want to see what he looks like and what the doctors say, how he feels tomorrow,” ASU head coach Bobby Hurley told reporters after the win. “And then we’ll get a plan for it.
“We’ve had some setbacks over the last few weeks with it. He made strides and he was doing very well, so this is another minor setback.”
Through three games played, Bagley is averaging 10 points, four rebounds and a block over 22.7 minutes per contest.
The sophomore is shooting 38.5% from the field and from 3-point land, while making 71.4% of his free throws.
With Bagley sidelined, the Sun Devils could turn to the duo of Jalen Graham and Alonzo Gaffney to pick up the slack. Gaffney and Graham played 26 and 22 minutes, respectively, with the former leading the team in total rebounds with nine.
The Sun Devils take on the Aztecs at 8:30 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
