Arizona State football adds 11 commits to 2022 recruiting class

The Arizona State football team on Wednesday announced 11 players who have signed national letters of intent for the class of 2022.
Of the 11 new additions, eight came via the transfer portal, while two were junior college transfers and one was a freshman, giving the Sun Devils 17 total commits.
ASU went 8-4 in the 2021 regular season to earn a bowl berth, but head coach Herm Edwards’ job on the recruiting front hasn’t been easy amid an NCAA investigation into the program’s recruiting practices.
Associate head coach, defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator Antonio Pierce also resigned on Wednesday due to his role in the scandal. He was reportedly pulled off the recruiting trail months ago.
This comes after former offensive coordinator Zak Hill resigned on Friday for similar reasons. Former Sun Devils assistant coaches Prentice Gill (receivers) and Chris Hawkins (defensive backs) were fired earlier in January, while tight ends coach Adam Breneman resigned.
And so recruiting momentum has stalled out for the Sun Devils, who have stood behind Edwards as the head coach moving forward.
Arizona State has since signed Brian Billick as an offensive analyst and advisor to Edwards in addition to Glenn Thomas as the team’s new quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator.
ASU posted the 52nd-ranked class in 2021, according to 247 Sports, but is currently ranked No. 105 nationally and last in the Pac-12. However, that does not include transfers, where the Sun Devils rank 17th in the country and No. 3 in the conference.
Below you’ll find a running list of players who’ve signed letters of intent on Wednesday:
