Arizona State football took their fall camp up north to Payson on Monday, starting their first of five practices at Camp Tontozona.

The camp and field itself, secluded in the forest, will serve as the Sun Devils’ home until Saturday.

For those traveling up north to watch ASU practice, there are a few things to keep in mind, especially when it comes to parking.

Parking is very limited at Camp T. For the scrimmage on Saturday, there will be a closed section on the eastbound side of SR260 near Camp Tontozona Road.

If you’re coming from Phoenix or Payson, keep right on SR 260 once you leave Star Valley. As drivers approach mile marker 267 they should merge to the right and proceed through the traffic restrictions and follow signs to the designated event parking area.

If you’re coming westbound on SR 260 from point’s east, drivers will be asked to turn left at Kohl’s Ranch Road. Gila County Sheriff’s will assist with traffic turning across SR 260.  Follow the signs and do not use Christopher Creek Road or Spring Creek Rd.

Prepare for a long walk into Camp T, but for limited mobility and disabled guests, there will be a limited number of shuttle carts on Camp Tontozona Road — you may just have to wait a while to get one, though.

ASU does not allow fans to bring in pop-up tents, pets, alcohol or glass containers, but concessions and Sparky’s team shop will be on site.

Be cautious of poor weather as well, prepare for rain during practice.
