State of the Sun Devils Podcast: Kenny Dillingham lands potential impact transfers
Dec 20, 2024, 8:38 PM
On the latest edition of the State of the Sun Devils podcast, Jeremy Schnell, Jesse Morrison and Damon Allred discuss Kenny Dillingham landing potential impact transfers, his unique approach to the transfer portal and Shamari Simmons’ targeting suspension being upheld.
Former Eastern Michigan kicker Jesús Gómez headlines the group of transfers. With Arizona State struggling in the kicking game this season, he should boost the 2025 Sun Devils.
Gómez was 20-of-25 on field goals this season and 27-of-29 on extra points. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Ex-Fresno State wideout Jalen Moss also picked ASU. Moss caught 48 passes for 563 yards and four touchdowns this season. He was even better in 2023, catching 55 balls for 706 yards and six touchdowns.
Shamari Simmons’ targeting suspension upheld
Arizona State defensive back Shamari Simmons is not going to be able to play for the Sun Devils in the first half of the Peach Bowl. The appeal to overturn his targeting penalty in the second half of the Big 12 Championship against Iowa State was denied.
Arizona State DB Shamari Simmons was ejected for targeting after this massive hit on Iowa State QB Rocco Becht to begin the fourth quarter.
