Arizona Wildcats offensive tackle Jonah Savaiinaea announced Sunday he will forego his senior season in college and enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
“I would like to thank Coach (Jedd) Fisch and Coach Brennan Carroll for giving me the opportunity to become a Wildcat. Thank you for truly believing in me,” Savaiinaea wrote of the coaches who recruited him.
“To Coach (Brent) Brennan and Coach (Josh) Oglesby, thank you for shaping me into the best version of myself on and off the field.”
Savaiinaea has a chance to become the second Arizona offensive tackle to go in the first round in as many years after 2023 starting left tackle Jordan Morgan was selected 25th overall by the Green Bay Packers.
Savaiinaea is ranked No. 27 on ESPN’s big board and is the fifth-rated tackle in the class.
He has extensive experience at right tackle and even started there this past season until a season-ending injury to Rhino Tapa’atoutai moved him to the left side. According to Pro Football Focus, Savaiinaea played 345 snaps at left and 364 at right this past season.
In 2023 with Morgan at left, Savaiinaea spent 693 snaps at right tackle and also 195 more at right guard.
Savaiinaea posted a pass-blocking grade of 83.4 as a junior with a run-blocking grade of 62.8, per Pro Football Focus.
Arizona football could have multiple first-round picks with Tetairoa McMillan and Jonah Savaiinaea
Savaiinaea is widely regarded as Arizona’s second-best pro prospect behind receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who could potentially be a top-10 pick.
ESPN rates McMillan as the 16th-best prospect overall.
Cornerback Tacario Davis is not far behind Savaiinaea as the 30th-rated prospect, according to ESPN’s board.
