Former Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin and Arizona State product Terrell Suggs are among 25 semifinalists to make the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
Announced on Wednesday, the group of potential modern-era inductees was whittled down from 167 candidates over the past two months.
Arizona connections among the semifinalists include former ASU defensive back and Maryvale High School product Darren Woodson and current Sun Devils receiver coach Hines Ward, who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers (1998-2011).
Boldin has been a semifinalist four times. He recorded 7,520 receiving yards with Arizona from 2003-09, a majority out of 13,779 for his entire NFL career.
Suggs, who went to Hamilton High School in Chandler before starring at ASU, was one of the top pass rushers in the NFL over his 17-year career, with his 139 sacks ranking eighth best since they became an official stat in 1982.
Suggs had seven double-digit sack seasons in his 16 seasons with Baltimore, including 14 in 2011 when he was selected as the top defensive player in the league and led the NFL with seven forced fumbles. The 10th overall pick in 2003 also played 13 games with the Cardinals in 2019, his final NFL season.
This is Suggs’ first time as a semifinalist and he just became eligible to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The list of semifinalists will be cut down to 15 finalists by the end of the year.
