Arizona Cardinals scrub Instagram in solidarity with Kyler Murray

Feb 11, 2022, 8:12 AM

It’s been a big deal around these parts that quarterback Kyler Murray deleting all but two posts on his Instagram account might be about sending a message to the franchise.

Based on how his current and former teammates responded to questions about what it all could mean, it can be assumed there’s something there.

But the Cardinals’ social media team is having a little fun with all the interest in Murray deleting lots and lots of content that involves the NFL club and otherwise. They followed in K1’s lead and deleted all but two posts to the team Instagram account.

What a nice move in solidarity with the starting quarterback.

The oldest remaining post on Arizona’s Instagram account is a picture of Murray holding a Cardinals jersey on April 25, 2019, the day he was selected No. 1 overall. Murray’s oldest remaining post was from Dec. 8, 2018, just after he won the Heisman Trophy as an Oklahoma player.

The latest post by the Cardinals is not unlike Murray’s most recent post from last weekend’s Pro Bowl. It’s a video and still shot of the quarterback with former Oklahoma Sooners teammate CeeDee Lamb.

Arizona’s solidarity in deleting most of its social media posts may not give Murray that extension he is up for, nor will it solve any potential issues he has with the team. If he’s upset about something regarding the franchise as many fans suspect, the social media team isn’t going to make it better.

But at least we’re all trying to have fun here. That’s what’s important.

Unless you’re Kyler Murray, the person maneuvering to make a life-changing amount of money. Then the priorities might be a little different for the time being.
