NFL.com’s Gil Brandt composed a list of the twelve one-year contracts that will pay off for 2021 that ranked Arizona Cardinals wide receiver A.J Green at No. 7.

Brandt mentioned that people have been raving about the play of the wide receiver during training camp this offseason and people in Arizona have started to turn an eye to Green.

Green signed in March to a one-year deal worth $8 million including $6 million guaranteed.

For a list like this, I would not normally select a 33-year-old receiver with a recent history of declining production (since 2017, when he last hit the 1,000-yard mark, Green has averaged 48.7 receiving yards per game; he averaged 80.5 in his first seven seasons). But a healthy and rejuvenated Green has been drawing rave reviews in Cardinals camp. The seven-time Pro Bowler might not hit the statistical heights he used to routinely reach earlier in his career, but he should play an important role in Arizona, not least because of his ability to help draw defensive attention away from DeAndre Hopkins.

Green will not be the only new Arizona wideout, joining second-round pick Rondale Moore as new targets for quarterback Kyler Murray.

Former Cardinals corner back Patrick Peterson rounded out the list at No. 12. He signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings this offseason.
