Cardinals’ Chandler Jones left off NFL’s top 100 players list

The Arizona Cardinals had a miserable season last year finishing with a record of 3-13.
But one player who did play well for the Cardinals was outside linebacker Chandler Jones.
Despite playing well last season, Jones was left off NFL Network’s 2019 top 100 players list.
The list is chosen based on players voting around the league and how well a player performed the previous year.
In 16 games last year, Jones had 13 sacks, which was tied for eighth in the league, and 49 combined tackles.
Before 2019, Jones had made the previous three top 100 lists, all as a member of the Cardinals. In the 2018 rankings, he was listed at No. 28 after having led the league in sacks (17), tackles for loss (28) and quarterback hits (33) in 2017.
Falling off the list completely after previously being in the top 30 comes as a surprise, especially when comparing his numbers to other players around the league.
Chicago Bears outside linebacker Khalil Mack, who was ranked No. 3 on this year’s list, had 12.5 sacks and 47 combined tackles in 14 games.
Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller was placed at No. 10 after managing 14.5 sacks and 48 combined tackles while also having 14 tackles for loss, one more than Jones.
After finishing the season by putting up 12 sacks and 49 combined sacks, New Orleans outside linebacker Cameron Jordan ranked No. 41 on the list.
Other Cardinals players did make it, however.
Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald came in at No. 60 and cornerback Patrick Peterson was ranked at No. 46.
