Contract and compensation is the hold up in Kevin Kolb deal

It’s Thursday and to the surprise of most Kevin Kolb isn’t an Arizona Cardinal. What exactly is the hold up?
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer it isn’t just one thing, currently it’s numerous aspects that are keeping the deal from getting done.
The hangup appears to be the extra piece – an unspecified Cardinals draft pick – that the teams are haggling over. Kolb’s desire to get a contract extension, and Arizona’s likely desire to lock him up long-term after giving up so much in compensation, could also be holding up the process.
From all accounts it appears that the two sides will be able to work through the impasse and complete a deal within the next few days.
The entire deal has taken on a life of its own with different rumors emerging seemingly every few minutes. Possibly the strangest aspect of the entire negotiation though is the fact that both sides seemingly lack leverage at this point. With Kyle Orton reportedly on his way to Miami and options such as Matt Hasselbeck finding new homes already neither side seems to have any options other than to make the deal happen.
So on Day 3 of Kolb Watch — or is that Month 3 — we basically know what we have for awhile. The Cardinals and Eagles are talking about a Kevin Kolb trade and no agreement has been reached.
