Cardinals defensive lineman J.J. Watt received a double dose of brotherly love on Sunday morning, the day he’ll play his final NFL game.
Watt’s younger brothers, T.J. and Derek, who play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, showed up for their game against Cleveland on Sunday wearing their brother’s No. 99 Arizona Cardinals jersey as a nod to J.J.’s impending exit from football after a 12-year career.
The Steelers tweeted a photo of the Watt brothers arriving for the game on the team’s official Twitter account.
J.J. Watt, a three-time AP Defensive Player of the Year, saw the the tweet by the Steelers and promptly tweeted a response that read: “Man oh man, I wasn’t ready for this this morning. Genuinely could not ask for two better brothers. This means the world to me.”
The Cardinals play their season finale at the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 2:25 p.m.
Watt will enter his final game with 9.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, six passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery this season.
Man oh man, I wasn’t ready for this this morning.
Genuinely could not ask for two better brothers.
This means the world to me.
