Quarterback Kyler Murray’s leg injury suffered at the end of the Arizona Cardinals’ loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday does not appear serious upon an initial evaluation, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Murray was hit as he released his final pass of the day in the 20-12 loss at State Farm Stadium and remained on the turf for several minutes before he walked off.

Rapoport said Murray got “leg-whipped” just after he threw an incomplete pass with 14 seconds left on 4th-and-7.

Murray finished the game completing 31-of-50 passes for 247 yards and an interception. He rushed eight times for 75 yards.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury did not have an update on the second-year quarterback, who did not speak to reporters postgame.

“Hurt his leg, so he’s getting examined right now,” Kingsbury said.

Murray and the 8-7 Cardinals face longer odds to make the postseason after their loss to the 49ers, and now the health of their quarterback will be under the microscope heading into the season finale.

The 7-7 Chicago Bears remain in the chase for the final NFC Wild Card berth and could take it if they win out, regardless of whether Arizona can beat the Los Angeles Rams next week in the season finale.
