Arizona Cardinals quarterback Sam Bradford threw his first incompletion of the preseason Sunday.

Then, he threw two more.

Bradford was unable to get the offense moving against the Dallas Cowboys in the third preseason game, going 1-4 with six yards. He was also sacked for the first time as a Cardinal.

After consecutive rushes by running back Chase Edmonds failed to accumulate any yards, Bradford couldn’t connect with J.J. Nelson and then got sacked out of the shotgun.

He returned to the field immediately, though, as the Cowboys muffed a punt.

Bradford’s sole completion came to tight end Ricky Seals-Jones for a six-yard gain.

It was enough to give kicker Phil Dawson a chance for the field goal, but he missed the 55-yard attempt.

Mike Glennon replaced Bradford at quarterback on the next drive.

While this was Bradford’s worst performance of the preseason, stars David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald both sat as the rest of the first team tried to get an early jump on the Cowboys. Without them, Bradford couldn’t get going.

While the battle for the No. 2 wide receiver spot rages on, none could do themselves favors with Bradford at the helm.

Nelson didn’t catch either of his two targets, though one was catchable despite having a defender on his back.
