Arizona Sports Hall of Fame class includes Michael Bidwill, Mike Bibby and Julie Ertz

Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill, Arizona Wildcats champion and Shadow Mountain High School product Mike Bibby, and two-time World Cup champion Julie Ertz highlight the eight-member class of inductees for the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame that was announced Thursday morning.
Bidwill, who helmed the NFL team following his father Bill, has played a part in bringing national and international events to the state. Bidwill learned of his induction from another member of the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame, former Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

The other Cardinals already in the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame are Bill Bidwill, Pat Tillman, Adrian Wilson and Jake Plummer.
Members of the 2024-25 Arizona Sports Hall of Fame class will be officially inducted on April 10.
2025 Arizona Sports Hall of Fame class
Michael Bidwill: The Arizona Cardinals owner succeeded his father and oversaw the team’s growth at State Farm Stadium in Glendale by spearheading mega-events there.
Melissa Belote Ripley: As a 15-year-old swimmer in 1972, Ripley won three gold medals at the Munich Olympics before starring at Arizona State.
Mike Bibby: The point guard helped the Wildcats to their only men’s basketball championship in 1997 before starring in the NBA for 14 years.
Julie Ertz: The midfielder and defender who attended Dobson High School in Mesa, Arizona, made 121 appearances for the women’s senior national team from 2013-23.
Joe Garagiola Jr.: The Arizona Diamondbacks’ first general manager set up the franchise to win the World Series in 2001, not long after its debut season in 1998.
Ricky Hunley: A linebacker for the Wildcats from 1980-83, he was a two-time consensus All-American, the first for Arizona as a school.
Paul Konerko: A six-time MLB All-Star and World Series winner with the Chicago White Sox (2005) from Chaparral High School in Scottsdale.
Matt Shott (posthumously): The former senior director of amateur hockey development for the Arizona Coyotes enters the hall of fame as the public vote winner for his impact in making hockey accessible across Arizona at the grassroots level.
