POCATELLO, Idaho – Coming off a 27-point loss at Weber State, the Northern Arizona men’s basketball team will look for its second conference road win Saturday night against Idaho State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

“I did not have any words for them after the game,” said Head Coach Mike Adras after the Weber State game. “All I could say is let’s get ready for the next game.”

NAU will look to rebound from a tough game against the Wildcats on Thursday. The Lumberjacks allowed 80-plus points for the third time this season (0-3), while allowing the Wildcats to shoot 55.3 percent, the highest percentage shot against NAU this season.

Sophomore Gabe Rogers’ 21 points were one of the few highlights, the best scoring output in 16 games for the sophomore guard and his fifth game of 20 or more points this season.

The Bengals are tied for eighth in the conference standings at 3-8. They are 2-3 in league play at home and are coming off an 84-79 victory at Portland State on Thursday.

In the win at Portland State Idaho State had season-highs for points (84), field goals made (32), and field goals attempted (67). Chase Grabau also had a career-high 16 points and Phyllip Taylor had a career-best seven assists.

The two schools had a tight battle in Flagstaff in the first meeting last month. Senior Cameron Jones scored six points in overtime and 31 overall after halftime to propel NAU to an 82-80 victory over Idaho State.

Jones finished with a career-high 37 points on a 12-of-23 performance from the field, including three three-pointers, eight rebounds and a 10-for-14 night at the charity stripe. Jones’ biggest bucket came at the end of regulation, nailing a three-pointer to send the game to overtime.

The teams combined for 28 points, three ties and three lead changes in an exciting extra period.
