Arizona Cardinals waive Max Hall, sign Brodie Croyle

Aug 24, 2011, 3:14 PM | Updated: 4:23 pm

From undrafted rookie to starting quarterbackto the unemployment line (well, almost), thus is the tale of Max Hall.

The injured 6-foot-1 BYU product was waived by the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday to make way for former Kansas City Chiefs signal caller Brodie Croyle. Being waived doesn’t necessarily mean that Hall is done with the club. If he clears waivers they could place him on the injured reserve list due to a separated shoulder if they wish to keep him. The Cardinals could decide to part ways with the QB, but both sides would have to reach an injury settlement.

Hall started three memorable — probably for the wrong reasons — games for the Cards in 2010. He finished the season throwing for 370 yards with one touchdown and six interceptions and a 35.7 quarterback rating.

His shining moment came in his first start in Week 5. He led the Cardinals to a surprising win over the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately for the quarterback ‘Hall Mania” ended about as fast as he began, as he would only get two more starts in his time in Arizona.
