Eric Bledsoe ties game, Suns steal inbound, Tyler Ulis nails shot at buzzer for Suns win

In what has to be the craziest finish to an NBA game this season, the Phoenix Suns pulled off an improbable win against the Boston Celtics at home thanks to their point guards Eric Bledsoe and Tyler Ulis.

Former Sun Isaiah Thomas was at the free-throw line with his team up 105-104 with 11 seconds left. Thomas made one of two, and with no timeouts down two points, Bledsoe had to push the pace.

Bledsoe did just that, flying through the lane and finishing a difficult off-balance layup near the rim with four seconds left.

With the game tied, the Celtics, also with no timeouts, rushed the inbounds to Thomas, who was being pressured already by Suns rookie Marquese Chriss.

By the time the cameras cut back to the action, Thomas didn’t have the ball, and with three seconds left on the clock, the ball rolled right to Ulis on the right wing.

With coach Earl Watson behind him, Ulis hit a step-back three-pointer to win the game.

It was the third buzzer-beater win for the Suns this season, the most in the NBA.

Ulis had a pedigree already for buzzer beaters before the season started. He hit a game-winner from way downtown in the summer league against the Denver Nuggets, but now Ulis has done it in a real NBA game.

The 21-year-old rookie was the star of the game for Phoenix already prior to the shot, outplaying Thomas in the first half with his career-high 15 points while Thomas was 4-of-13 with four personal fouls.

Thomas, averaging nearly 30 points per game coming into the game, would get his back in the second half, ending the night with 35 points, but Ulis finished with 20 and hit the shot that mattered the most.

The incredible sequence of events and shot by Ulis gave the Suns a three-game winning streak, the team’s first winning streak lasting longer than two games this season.
