Last Friday, the Arizona Cardinals released veteran defensive lineman Darnell Dockett.
It didn’t take long for the new free agent to find a team to visit.

Dockett, 33, was a third-round pick of the Cardinals out of Florida State in 2004 and has spent his entire career with the organization.
The three-time Pro Bowler suffered a torn ACL during training camp last summer and missed the entire 2014 season. It was the first injury that caused him to miss any significant time. He had missed only two games during his first 10 years in the league.
Dockett, who has been active and controversial on social media for the last several years, tweeted Feb. 19 “I’ll be in az next year 1 way or another rather its 1 game or 8. #thinkaboutit!”
If he were to sign with San Francisco, or another NFC West team, he would indeed play one game at University of Phoenix Stadium.
General manager Steve Keim has seemingly kept the door open for the player’s return should the financial parameters work for the Cardinals.
“We have been very clear about our feelings for Darnell and our desire to have him back,” Keim said in a statement released Friday. “After speaking with him and his representatives, we decided that this move today makes the most sense for both the team and the player and allows each to keep all of its options open.”
