Woodley, 30, played in just six games for the Raiders last season due to a torn biceps.
Prior to that, he spent the first seven years of his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. There, he became one of the best pass rushing linebackers in the NFL, tallying 44 sacks from 2008 to 2011.
However, he has racked up just nine sacks over the last three seasons, and last played a full 16 games in 2010.
Originally a second round pick of the Steelers’ out of Michigan State in 2007, Woodley earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2009. In his NFL career, which spans 100 games, he has accumulated 367 total tackles (264 solos), 57 sacks, nine forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries and five interceptions.
