Former Arizona Cardinal Dan Williams signs with Oakland Raiders

For the first time since becoming an NFL player in 2010, defensive tackle Dan Williams will suit up in something different than an Arizona Cardinals uniform.

Williams, 27, signed a contract with the Oakland Raiders Wednesday morning that will average around $6 million per season and will pay out around $15 million guaranteed according to AZCentral Sports’ Kent Somers.

The former first-round pick out of Tennessee had a solid 2014 campaign, registering 31 total tackles and one quarterback sack. In his career, Williams has 156 tackles, two sacks, eight passes defensed and one interception.

He was a key part of the Arizona defensive front, and Pro Football Focus had him rated as the 14th-best defensive tackle in the league last season.

Williams is the first of Arizona’s free agents to sign elsewhere this offseason.
