More than 100 players will participate in the inaugural NFL Veteran Combine to be held March 22 at the Arizona Cardinals facility in Tempe. Similar to the NFL Combine held for prospective rookies, the Veteran Combine will test and evaluate players through a variety of different tests, measurements and workouts.
“Combines have long provided draft eligible players with the forum needed to showcase their skills to NFL teams,” says NFL Director of Football Development Matt Birk. “The NFL Veteran Combine will give veteran free agents a similar opportunity to work out in front of club personnel in a streamlined process.”
Notable participants include Michael Sam, Michael Bush, Felix Jones, and former Arizona State defensive back Deveron Carr.
Combine workouts will begin at 7:20 a.m. featuring nine position groups, beginning with offensive linemen and ending with cornerbacks at 3:30 p.m.
NFL Network will air a one-hour special and recap on the Veteran Combine at 5:00 p.m. on March 22.
