Many rumors swirl during the NFL offseason, with the percentage that actually come true likely being pretty low.
Still, if you think the league’s players are immune to it all, or do not pay attention to what is going on, think again.
Take, for instance, the rumors that have running back Adrian Peterson possibly being traded from the Minnesota Vikings to the Arizona Cardinals.
Obviously there are plenty of hoops that have to be jumped through in order to make that a reality, the first of which being the Vikings deciding to trade their all-time leading rusher.
But the idea of one of the game’s best runners landing in Arizona’s backfield is certainly an enticing one, and it’s something left tackle Jared Veldheer has thought about, if only a little.
“You know I’ve heard a little bit about it,” he told Doug and Wolf on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Friday. “But you can’t look into that stuff too much before it actually happens because there is so much speculation that goes around.
“But all I’m saying is if Adrian Peterson’s in my backfield, I’m not going to be upset as a lineman.”
Peterson, who will be 30 in Week 1 of the 2015 season, has run for 10,190 yards and 86 touchdowns in eight seasons with the Vikings. A First-Team All-Pro three times and a Pro Bowler six times, he was the NFL MVP in 2012.
