The Arizona Cardinals added a quarterback Tuesday.
The team announced it had signed Chandler Harnish to a one-year contract. Terms were not disclosed.
Harnish spent last season on the Minnesota Vikings’ practice squad and was active for the final game of the season, though he did not play.
The 6-foot-2, 222-pound passer originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Northern Illinois. He bounced between the active roster and practice squad that season, and in 2013 spent the entire season on the practice squad.
Harnish started 45 of 47 games in four seasons at Northern Illinois, completing 61.9 percent of his passes for 8,944 yards and 68 touchdowns with just 26 interceptions. He also ran for 2,983 yards and 24 touchdowns.
