Cardinals announce schedule for NFL Draft viewing party

Apr 13, 2017, 1:51 PM | Updated: 4:09 pm

The Arizona Cardinals announced they will host a fan viewing party on April 27, the first day of the 2017 NFL Draft, on the Great Lawn of University of Phoenix Stadium.

The event will go from 4:30-9:00 p.m. with the draft beginning at 5:00 p.m. Fans will be able to meet Cardinals players, coaches, cheerleaders and team mascot Big Red. The focus of the night is the draft, which fans can watch on giant video boards via the NFL Network broadcast. Admission and parking at the stadium are free.

The Cardinals are turning the viewing party into quite the sizable event. Carnival rides, a zipline, a junior cheer mini-clinic and a host of other activities will be available. The party begins the “Cardinals Spring Tailgate,” which will run on April 28 and 29 on the Great Lawn.

The Cardinals own eight picks in the 2017 NFL Draft, which will take place in Philadelphia. The Cardinals have the 13th pick in the first round along with all their other picks, plus a compensatory fifth-round selection.
