After six full rounds in the NFL Draft, it was starting to look like no players from Arizona State or the University of Arizona would get drafted.

ASU’s Zane Gonzalez who was projected to be the first kicker off the board as early as the fourth round, saw another kicker get drafted ahead of him in the fifth.

With their seventh round, 224th overall pick, the Cleveland Browns finally ended the skepticism that no Sun Devil would get drafted, by picking up Gonzalez.

Still, he was the only player from ASU or UA to hear his name be called in the 2017 NFL Draft.

That doesn’t mean others didn’t hear some good news later in the weekend.

According to CBS Sports’ free agent tracker, seven total players from ASU and Arizona have joined an NFL team as undrafted free agents, whether that be a signing or a camp invite.

Arizona Cardinals fans may want to close their ears when they hear that their beloved ASU walk-on Jordan Simone is going to join the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks.

The Cardinals are taking in a former Sun Devil this year to counter, adding defensive back De’Chavon “Gump” Hayes.

The other two ASU products to get the call as an UDFA are punter Matt Haack, who is joining the Miami Dolphins, and wide receiver Tim White, who is now with the Baltimore Ravens.

According to ESPN, the Indianapolis Colts have flat out signed Arizona wide receiver Trey Griffey.

Offensive lineman Freddie Tagaloa and safety Paul Magloire are with the Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, respectively, as they round out the other Wildcats now in the NFL.
