After every Arizona Cardinals game we’ll examine the
box score and
provide you with instant analysis. So it’s time to go
Inside the Box for
September 1, 2011: Cardinals 26, Broncos 7
The Good:
It looks like Richard Bartel cemented his place as Kevin Kolb’s backup on Thursday. He picked apart the Broncos defense, completing 12 of his 16 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns. Sure, he may have given up a pick, but everyone has a bad moment now and again.
Kicker Jay Feely contributed a good amount to the final score, booting four field goals and two extra points.
The Bad:
It may be the final preseason game, but the Cardinals could have done better in the Red Zone. They visited the area four times, but only converted once. That number needs to go up, especially when a few regular season games are likely to be decided by Red Zone efficiency.
The Funky:
Feely has now scored 39 points against the Broncos since December. Maybe someone in the Denver area owes him money, because he likes to punish the Broncos.
