Delgado made the spot start for the injured Taijuan Walker, going four innings and allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits with one walk and three strikeouts. It was Delgado’s first start since Aug. 22, 2015.
The bullpen game saw Arizona use five different relievers once Delgado came out in the fifth inning, including Andrew Chafin, who picked up the win.
This season Delgado has a 3.82 ERA in 30.2 innings pitched with 27 strikeouts.
Walker was placed on the 10-day DL on May 21, retroactive to May 20 for a blister on his right index finger. In nine starts, Walker is 4-3 with a 3.46 ERA and 46 strikeouts.
