Cardinals owner Bill Bidwill selected to Georgetown Prep’s Hall of Fame
Arizona Cardinals owner Bill Bidwill was selected for induction into Georgetown Prep’s most recent hall of fame class.
Georgetown Prep is an all-boys Jesuit boarding school located outside of Washington D.C., and has been around since 1789.
Bidwill, a 1949 graduate, was a two-sport athlete for the Little Hoyas football and baseball teams.
As a fullback and kicker, Bidwill led the football team in scoring in both his junior and senior seasons, helping the team win the city championship in 1948.
After graduating from Georgetown Prep, Bidwill went on to Georgetown University before joining the U.S. Navy. After his service, he began working full-time with the Cardinals and more than 50 years later, still serves as the team’s chairman.
