Cardinals introduce new food items at University of Phoenix Stadium

PHOENIX — The Arizona Cardinals gave an all-access look at their stadium’s new food items on Tuesday, showing off items from a simple hamburger to fried PB&J sandwiches.

Sean Kavanaugh, the executive chef of Rojo Hospitality at University of Phoenix Stadium, said some of the value items and family packs fans are used to — like hot dogs, burgers, fries, chicken strips and sodas — have gone down in price.

There’s also $5 domestic draft beer available all around the stadium.

The Cardinals introduced the following new food items for the 2017 season:

Cardiac Cards Dog: A foot-long all-beef dog wrapped in a burger patty wrapped in bacon, topped with Poblano queso, pico de gallo and Cotija cheese. It’s available for $14 in sections 112, 135, 408 and 444.

“That is one delicious hot dog burger bacon thing,” Kavanaugh said.

The Pump Fake: A peanut butter & jelly sandwich is deep-fried in Captain Crunch crumbs and topped with bacon, bananas and caramel. It’s $7 and is available in sections 102, 124 and 408.

The Fire Dog: This all-beef hot dog is topped with nacho cheese, red jalapenos and Flaming Hot Cheetos. It’s $6 and can be found in sections 127 and 452.

BACO Sandwiches: Bao buns are folded into a taco and filled with your choice of either ginger carne asada beef, slow-roasted pork, orange chicken or avacado cheese melt. There’s also a BACO “bowl” available. Any of these items are $11 and are found on the club level.

“[It’s an] east-meets-southwest kind of sandwich,” Kavanaugh said. “A bao is normally a steamed bun. We’re filling it with southwestern-Asian flavors.”

The Glazed Donut Pressed Ice Cream Sandwich: A panini press is used to take two halves of a donut and press them together around a scoop of your choice of ice cream or gelato. It’s $9 and is on the club level only.
