Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Robbie Ray — recovering from having been hit in the head by a line drive — threw a simulated game on Saturday.

According to a report from MLB.com, Ray faced live hitters at Salt River Fields and has no lingering effects from a concussion.

“It went really well,” Ray said in MLB.com’s story. “I felt good, arm felt great, body felt great … head felt great. We’ll just see where it goes from there.”

Ray has been recovering from an incident on July 28 in which he was struck in the head by a line drive while pitching in St. Louis against the Cardinals. He was sent to the hospital and released later that evening. Since then, he’s been on the 7-day concussion DL.

Ray has emerged as a top-of-the-rotation pitcher behind ace Zack Greinke this year, being named an NL All-Star. He holds a 9-5 record and a 3.11 ERA to go with one shutout this season.
